Wim is a regular speaker at industry events where organisations are deciding and defining their big data strategy and direction. Wim holds a degree in Chemical Process Technology from the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands.

Research Director - IDC

Philip Carnelley is research director for IDC’s European Software Group, and has over 20 years’ experience working in the IT industry as an analyst, consultant, and applications developer in a variety of industries around Europe. His research coverage at IDC focuses on cognitive software and applications, big data platforms, and middleware. He is also tasked with writing and presenting on broader enterprise software trends and the impact of emerging software technologies in the European region.
